What Is Product Status in Shopify?

Product status is an important aspect of Shopify. It helps to keep track of your inventory, and also helps to ensure that your products are being sold at the right price. There are four different product statuses in Shopify: active, inactive, deleted, and archived.

Active: This is the most common status for a product. An active product is one that is currently being sold in your shop.

If an item is set to “unavailable”, it will not be able to be purchased by customers. This can be frustrating for shoppers, so it’s important to make sure that product status is set correctly before making your store live.

Inactive: An inactive product is one that is not currently being sold in your shop. Deleted: A deleted product is one that has been removed from your shop permanently. Archived: An archived product is one that has been removed from your shop temporarily.

Product status is important because it helps you to keep track of your inventory levels, and also helps to ensure that you are selling your products at the correct price. If you have an inactive product, for example, you will want to check to see if the price is still correct before selling it again. If you have a deleted product, you will want to make sure that it is not being sold in your shop anymore.

To change the status of a product, simply go to the “Products” section of your Shopify admin, and click on the product that you want to change. Then, click on the “Edit” button, and select the new status from the “Status” drop-down menu. Save your changes, and you’re done!
