What Is Source File Mean on Fiverr?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 9:59 pm

When you create a new gig on Fiverr, one of the requirements is to upload a source file. This is the file that the buyer will receive when they purchase your gig. The source file can be anything from a text document to an image to a video.

The purpose of the source file is to give the buyer something to work with after they purchase your gig. This way, they can see what they’re getting and can use it however they want. For example, if you’re selling a logo, the source file will be the logo itself in a format that can be easily edited (such as a Photoshop or Illustrator file).

PRO TIP: If you are not sure what a “source file” is on Fiverr, be careful before ordering a gig. This term can mean different things to different people, so it is important to clarify with the seller exactly what they will be providing before you make a purchase. Otherwise, you may end up with something that is not what you expected.

If you’re not sure what kind of source file to upload, just ask the buyer. They’ll usually let you know what they need.

A source file is an important part of any Fiverr gig because it helps the buyer know what they’re getting and lets them use the files however they want.
