What Is the Bleed on Canva?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 9:11 pm

The bleed on Canva is the area of the image that will be trimmed off when the image is printed. The bleed area is usually about 1/8″ (0.125″) to 1/4″ (0.25″) on each side of the image.

PRO TIP: When creating designs on Canva, it is important to be aware of the bleed. The bleed is the area around the edge of your design that will be trimmed off when the design is printed. This means that any elements that you want to appear at the very edge of your design (such as text or images) should be placed within the bleed area. Otherwise, they may be cut off when the design is printed.

When you are designing an image for print, you will need to take into account the bleed so that none of your important content is trimmed off when the image is printed. For example, if you are designing a business card, you will need to make sure that your logo and contact information extend into the bleed area so that they are not cut off when the card is printed.

If you are not sure how to set up your bleed, don’t worry! Canva’s print team can help you with that. Just send us an email at support@canva.com and we’ll be happy to help.
