What Is the Default WooCommerce Response When a Product Is Added to the Cart?

When a product is added to the cart in WooCommerce, the default response is to add the product to the cart and return to the shop page. This can be changed in the settings to redirect to the cart page, or to a specific product page. The WooCommerce settings can be found in the WordPress admin under WooCommerce > Settings. In the General tab, there is an option for Cart Redirection.

By default, this is set to No redirection. If you change this setting to Cart page, then when a product is added to the cart, the user will be redirected to the cart page. If you change it to Specific Product page, then they will be redirected to that product’s page.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to use WooCommerce to sell products on your WordPress site, it is important to be aware of the default response that is given when a product is added to the cart. By default, WooCommerce will add a product to the cart and then display a “Thank you” message on the next page. This can be confusing for customers, as they may not be sure if they have actually added the product to their cart or not. If you would like to change this behaviour, you can do so by going to the WooCommerce settings page and changing the “Default Add to Cart Action” setting.
