What Is the DNS for Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 12:36 am

The DNS for Squarespace is a system that helps you connect your domain name to your Squarespace website. It’s what allows people to find your site when they type in your domain name.

If you’re not familiar with DNS, it stands for Domain Name System. It’s a system that translates domain names (like www.example.com) into IP addresses (like 192.0.2.1). This system is what allows you to type in a web address and get to the correct website.

PRO TIP: The DNS for Squarespace may change without notice and this could cause your website to become inaccessible. Always check with Squarespace before making any changes to your DNS settings.

When you sign up for Squarespace, we automatically configure our DNS servers for you. This means that you don’t need to do anything to set up DNS for your Squarespace site.

If you’re using a custom domain name with Squarespace, you’ll need to point your DNS to our servers. This process is known as “DNS propagation,” and it can take up to 48 hours for changes to propagate worldwide.
