What Resolution Is Canva PDF Print?

When it comes to printing your Canva design, it’s important to understand the difference between file types and resolutions. File types like JPG, PNG, and PDF all have different resolutions.

The resolution of a JPG or PNG is measured in pixels per inch (ppi). The higher the ppi, the higher the quality of the image. For example, an image with a resolution of 300 ppi will have more detail than an image with a resolution of 72 ppi.

PDFs don’t have a ppi measurement. Instead, they have a dots per inch (dpi) measurement.

The dpi measures how many dots of ink are used to print each inch of the PDF. Just like with ppi, the higher the dpi, the higher the quality of the PDF.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that the resolution of a Canva PDF print may not be high enough for some printing purposes. If you require a high resolution print, we recommend using another printing service.

When you export your design as a PDF from Canva, you can choose between two different resolutions: low and high. Low resolution is ideal for uploading your design to the web or sending it via email. High resolution is better for printing.

To get the best quality print possible, we recommend using our high resolution PDF option when exporting your design from Canva.

The resolution of a PDF exported from Canva is 300 dpi.
