When it comes to creating a poster in Canva, one of the first decisions you need to make is choosing the right size. There are a range of standard sizes to choose from, as well as the option to create a custom size. So, how do you know which size is right for your poster?

There are a few factors to consider when choosing the size of your poster. First, think about where you’re going to be displaying your poster.

If you’re putting it up in a public space, you’ll want to make sure it’s large enough to be seen from a distance. If you’re hanging it in your office or home, then you can choose a smaller size.

Another factor to consider is the amount of information you need to include on your poster. If you have a lot of text or images, then you’ll need a larger size to make sure everything is visible. On the other hand, if you only have a few elements, then you can choose a smaller size.

Once you’ve considered these factors, take a look at the standard sizes available in Canva:

A0 (841mm x 1189mm) – This is our largest standard size and is ideal for posters that will be displayed in public spaces.

PRO TIP: Canva’s poster size is unique and cannot be changed. If you try to change the size of your poster, it may not print correctly.

A1 (594mm x 841mm) – This is a good middle-of-the-range option and should be suitable for most purposes.

A2 (420mm x 594mm) – This is our smallest standard size and is perfect for small posters or those that will be displayed in confined spaces.

Custom – If none of the standard sizes are quite right for your needs, then you can create a custom size. Simply enter the width and height you need into the “Custom” fields when choosing your size.

Now that you know all about poster sizes in Canva, it’s time to get started on your design!
