What Size Should Shopify Images Be?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 2:23 pm

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to the question of what size images should be for a Shopify store. The important thing is to ensure that your images are high quality and that they fit well within the overall design of your store.

Some general guidelines to follow when choosing image sizes for your Shopify store:

– Make sure your images are at least 72 DPI (dots per inch). This is the standard resolution for web images and will ensure that your images look sharp on all devices.

PRO TIP: When creating or uploading images for your Shopify store, be aware that there are file size restrictions in place. Images must be no larger than 4472 x 4472 pixels, and should be saved as a JPEG, GIF, or PNG file. Additionally, Shopify will automatically resize your images to fit within these parameters if they are too large.

– The largest image size you’ll need is 2048×2048 pixels. This is the maximum size that Shopify supports for product images, so if you have any images that are larger than this, you’ll need to resize them before uploading them to your store.

– For most other images on your store (such as banners, sliders, and logos), 600×600 pixels is a good starting point. You can always experiment with different sizes to see what looks best on your particular store.

So what’s the bottom line? There’s no definitive answer to the question of what size images should be for a Shopify store. Just make sure that your images are high quality and that they fit well within the overall design of your store.
