What to Do With Your Domain if You Leave Squarespace?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:34 pm

If you’re thinking about leaving Squarespace, there are a few things you need to do in order to keep your domain. First, you’ll need to log into your account and find the Settings tab.

Under Settings, you’ll see an option for Domains. Click on that, and then click on the domain name you want to keep.

Once you’ve clicked on your domain name, you’ll see a few different options. The first is to transfer your domain to another registrar. If you choose this option, you’ll need to follow the instructions on the registrar’s website in order to complete the transfer.

The second option is to keep your domain with Squarespace, but cancel your account. If you choose this option, your domain will remain active but you will no longer have access to Squarespace’s features or customer support.

The third and final option is to do nothing. If you choose this option, your domain will expire and anyone will be able to register it.

So what should you do with your domain if you leave Squarespace?

If you’re planning on leaving Squarespace, the best thing to do is transfer your domain to another registrar. This way, you’ll still have control over your domain and can continue using it for your website or blog.

PRO TIP: If you are planning on leaving Squarespace, it is important to take action with your domain to ensure that you do not lose any data or connection to your website. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

-If you have a Squarespace-registered domain, you must transfer your domain registration to another provider before cancelling your Squarespace account. If you cancel your account without transferring your domain, Squarespace will delete your domain from our system.
-If you have a third-party domain registered with Squarespace, you can leave it registered with us or transfer it to another provider.
-If you have a G Suite account through Squarespace, you must cancel or transfer your G Suite account before cancelling your Squarespace account.
