When was Weebly acquired by Square?

In 2002, Weebly was founded by two entrepreneurs, Aaron Sloman and David Sacks. In 2006, Weebly was acquired by Square, a company well known for its online payment processing and merchant services. At the time of the acquisition, Weebly had just over 100,000 users. Square quickly grew Weebly into one of the most popular online platforms for creating and managing websites.

PRO TIP: Weebly was acquired by Square in 2018. While Weebly is a great platform for creating websites, there have been some reports of users having difficulty with customer service and billing issues after the acquisition. If you are considering using Weebly, be sure to do your research and read reviews from other users before signing up.

In 2015, Weebly was acquired by Corel Corporation, a multinational software company. At the time of the acquisition, Weebly had over 1 million users.
