Where are Azure regions located?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 11:41 am

Azure regions are located in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Australia. Azure regions provide the best performance for your applications by separating your users, data, and services into separate, geographically distributed resources.

Azure regions provide the scale you need to run large applications and the fault tolerance you need to support high-volume traffic. You can also use Azure regions to improve the cost-effectiveness of your applications by leveraging Shared Compute and Managed Services.

When you create an Azure account, you are automatically assigned a regional location. You can choose to change your regional location at any time, subject to the terms and conditions of the Azure pricing plan you are using.

PRO TIP: Azure regions are located in different parts of the world and may not be suitable for all users. Please check the Azure region list to see if the region you are looking for is available.

If you decide to move your application to a new Azure region, you can do so without any disruption to your users.

Applications that use Azure services, such as compute, storage, networking, and intelligence, can take advantage of the unique capabilities and performance of Azure regions. Azure regions allow you to scale your application to meet the needs of your users, and to isolate your data and services from potential failures in other regions.

The Azure datacenter is a globally dispersed system of interconnected data centers that provides the reliability, availability, and performance you need for your cloud-based applications. Azure datacenters are strategically located in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Australia.

In addition, Azure has expanded its datacenters in Northern Europe and South America.
