Where Are WooCommerce Coupons Stored?

WooCommerce coupons can be stored in a few different places. Other places include the WooCommerce plugin folder, the active theme’s folder, and the wp-content folder.

The WordPress database is the most likely place to find WooCommerce coupons. To access the WordPress database, you’ll need to use a tool like phpMyAdmin.

Once you’re in phpMyAdmin, you’ll need to select your WordPress database from the list of databases on the left. Then, you’ll need to find the table that contains your WooCommerce coupons. The table name will start with “wp_wc_”.

Once you’ve found the table that contains your WooCommerce coupons, you can view and edit them directly in phpMyAdmin. You can also export them to a CSV file so that you can view and edit them in a spreadsheet application like Microsoft Excel.

PRO TIP: As of WooCommerce 3.5, coupons are now stored as posts in the WordPress database. This means that if you change your WordPress theme, your coupons will still be accessible and visible on your website. However, if you delete your WooCommerce plugin, all coupons will be deleted from your WordPress database.

The WooCommerce plugin folder is another place that WooCommerce coupons can be stored. To access the WooCommerce plugin folder, you’ll need to login to your WordPress site via FTP.

Once you’re logged in via FTP, you’ll need to navigate to the /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/ directory. In this directory, you’ll find a file called “coupons.php”.

The coupons.php file contains all of the WooCommerce coupons that are currently active on your site. You can edit this file directly via FTP or download it to your computer so that you can edit it in a text editor like Notepad++.

The active theme’s folder is another place where WooCommerce coupons can be stored. To access the active theme’s folder, you’ll need to login to your WordPress site via FTP.

Once you’re logged in via FTP, you’ll need to navigate to the /wp-content/themes/ directory. In this directory, you’ll find a folder for your active theme.

Inside your active theme’s folder, you should find a file called “coupons. This file contains all of the WooCommerce coupons that are currently active on your site.

Conclusion:
As seen above, there are many places where WooCommerce coupons can be stored depending on how they were created or imported into WooCommerce.
If created manually within WooCommerce, then they will typically be stored within the WooCommerce plugin directory.
However if imported from another source or created by another means such as through a CSV import then they may be store din other directories such as within WP-content.
It is also possible for stores using WooCommerce multisite installations for there to be more than one storage location for coupon codes depending on how they were generated and which site within the network they were generated for.
In any case, knowing where to look for these files can save hours of time when trying to troubleshoot coupon code related issues for a WooCommerce store owner or administrator.
