Where Do I Put SEO Keywords for Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:56 am

When it comes to Squarespace, one of the most common questions we get is “Where do I put my SEO keywords?”

If you’re not familiar with the term, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, and it refers to the practice of optimizing your website to make it more visible in search engine results pages (SERPs).

There are a number of different factors that go into SEO, but one of the most important is choosing the right keywords. The right keywords are those that are relevant to your business and that people are actually searching for. If you choose keywords that no one is searching for, you’re not going to get any traffic.

So how do you choose the right keywords? And once you’ve chosen them, where do you put them on your Squarespace website?

PRO TIP: If you are considering using Squarespace to build your website, be aware that there is no specific place to put your SEO keywords. While Squarespace is an excellent platform for many businesses, it may not be the best option if you are relying on SEO to drive traffic to your site.

Step 1: Research Keywords

The first step is to do some research and find out which keywords are most relevant to your business. There are a number of different tools you can use for keyword research, but our favorite is Google’s Keyword Planner. This tool is free to use, and it will give you an idea of how many people are searching for a particular keyword.

Step 2: Add Keywords to Your Site

Once you’ve chosen your keywords, it’s time to add them to your Squarespace site. There are a few places you can add keywords:

  • Page titles and meta descriptions: The title of each page on your site appears in SERPs, as does the meta description. These are both great places to include your keywords.
  • Headings and subheadings: Headings and subheadings help break up your content and make it easier to read. They also give search engines an idea of what your page is about. Be sure to include your keywords in both your headings and subheadings.
  • Alt text: Alt text is the text that appears when an image can’t be displayed.

It’s also used by screen readers for people who are visually impaired. When adding images to your Squarespace pages, be sure to include relevant keywords in the alt text.

  • Product names and descriptions: If you have an online store, be sure to include relevant keywords in your product names and descriptions. This will help your products show up in SERPs when people search for those terms.

.

SEO is important for businesses of all types, but it can be especially helpful if you’re running an online store. By including relevant keywords in your product names and descriptions, you can make it more likely that people will find your products when they’re searching for them.
