When you create a new Photoshop document, you are asked to specify the name of the file, the format, and the location in which to save it. The location can be either your computer’s hard drive or an external storage device. You can also save your file to a specific folder within your hard drive. The most common format for saving Photoshop files is the Photoshop Document (PSD) file format.

This format preserves all of the information in your document, including layers, type, transparency, and effects. You can also save your file in other formats, such as TIFF, EPS, or JPEG.

PRO TIP: When you save a file in Photoshop, it is important to know where the file will be saved on your computer. If you do not know where the file is saved, you may not be able to find it later.

So where does Photoshop actually save these files? When you create a new document and click “Save,” Photoshop will open up a window that allows you to navigate to the location where you want to store your new file. By default, Photoshop will save files to your computer’s “Pictures” folder. However, you can change this location by clicking on the “Browse” button and navigating to a different folder on your hard drive.

If you want to save your file to an external storage device, such as a USB flash drive or an external hard drive, simply connect the device to your computer and then click on the “Browse” button. Navigate to the appropriate location on the device and then click “Save. ”
