As a leading website builder, Squarespace offers users a high degree of customization when it comes to styling their sites. While the platform does provide a wide range of built-in templates and designs to choose from, there may be times when you want to tweak the look of your site beyond what’s possible with the built-in options. This is where Custom CSS comes in.

Custom CSS is a code that allows you to make changes to the style of your Squarespace site. With Custom CSS, you can change the colors, fonts, spacing, and other design elements on your site. You can also use Custom CSS to add new design elements that are not available in the Squarespace interface.

If you’re not a web developer or designer, don’t worry – adding Custom CSS to your Squarespace site is relatively easy. There are a few different ways to do it, but we’ll walk you through the most common method below.

First, you’ll need to open up the Code Block editor on your Squarespace site. To do this, go to the page or post where you want to add Custom CSS and click on the Code icon in the toolbar (it looks like ).

Once the Code Block editor opens, you’ll see two tabs at the top – one for HTML and one for CSS. Click on the CSS tab and then paste your Custom CSS code into the editor window.

Now that your Custom CSS code has been added, all you need to do is hit Save and then Preview or Publish your changes. And that’s it! Your Squarespace site will now be styled according to your specifications.

PRO TIP: If you are looking for Custom CSS in Squarespace, be aware that it is not easily accessible. Custom CSS is located in the Code Injection section of the Advanced tab, which can be found in the Settings menu. However, this section is hidden by default and must be enabled by entering a code snippet. Once enabled, you will still need to add your own CSS code in order to make changes to your site.

So where can you find Custom CSS code? If you’re not a web developer or designer yourself, there are plenty of resources available online where you can find pre-made code snippets to use on your Squarespace site. A quick Google search will turn up plenty of results, or you can check out sites like CodePen or GitHub for more options.

Whether you’re looking to make small tweaks or completely transform the look of your Squarespace site, Custom CSS is a powerful tool that can help you achieve your vision. So don’t be afraid to experiment – with a little bit of code, you can create a truly unique Squarespace site that reflects your personal style and brand identity.
