Plastic wrap is one of those things that you probably don’t think about until you need it. Then, it’s a total pain to find.
Photoshop does have a plastic wrap filter, but it’s hidden away in the Filter Gallery. Here’s how to find it and use it.
To find the plastic wrap filter in Photoshop, go to Filter > Filter Gallery. In the filter gallery, scroll down until you find the Plastic Wrap filter. It’s under the Distort category.
To use the plastic wrap filter, simply select the layer you want to apply it to and click on the filter. You’ll be presented with a few options to customize the effect.
The first option is Amount. This controls how much of the effect is applied to the layer. A higher amount will create more wrinkles and folds in the layer.
The next option is Detail. This controls how much detail is preserved in the layer. A higher detail setting will preserve more detail, but may also create artifacts in the image.
The last option is Smoothness. This controls how smooth the final effect is. A higher smoothness setting will create a smoother effect, but may also blur some of the details in the image.
