Where Is the Dust Spot in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 3:58 pm

As anyone who’s ever used Photoshop knows, one of the most frustrating things can be trying to find a specific spot in an image. Whether you’re trying to remove a small blemish or trying to select a particular area for editing, it can be tough to pinpoint the exact location you need. That’s where the dust spot feature comes in.

The dust spot feature is a small circle that appears in the top left corner of the screen when you hover your mouse over an area of an image. This circle shows you the exact location of the pixel you’re hovering over, making it easy to select and edit that specific area.

PRO TIP: If you are using Photoshop to remove a dust spot from a photo, be sure to use the Clone Stamp tool with a very small brush size. Otherwise, you may end up with a larger area of the photo being affected than just the dust spot.

To use the dust spot feature, simply hover your mouse over the area you want to select and look for the small circle in the top left corner of the screen. Once you’ve found it, you can click and drag to select that specific area.

The dust spot feature is a helpful tool for anyone who needs to make precise selections in their images. Whether you’re removing a small blemish or selecting a particular area for editing, this feature can help you get the job done quickly and easily.
