Where is the Remove Background button in Photoshop?

Background removal is one of the most common tasks that photographers need to complete in Photoshop. The Remove Background button is located in the toolbox on the left side of the window. When you click on this button, Photoshop displays a dialog box that allows you to select the area of the image that you want to remove the background from. You can also use the Quick Selection tool to select the area of the image that you want to remove the background from.

PRO TIP: If you are trying to remove the background of an image in Photoshop and cannot find the “Remove Background” button, it may be because you are using an older version of Photoshop. The “Remove Background” button was introduced in Photoshop CC 2015.5. If you are using an older version of Photoshop, you will need to use the “Extract” tool instead.

When you are finished selecting the area that you want to remove the background from, click on the OK button. Photoshop then removes the background from the selected area of the image.
