Canva is a user-friendly graphic design tool that allows businesses and individuals to create professional designs for social media, marketing campaigns, presentations, and more. Canva offers users a library of built-in templates and easy-to-use tools to create custom designs.

Canva was founded in 2012 by Melanie Perkins, Cliff Obrecht, and Cameron Adams. The company is headquartered in Sydney, Australia. As of June 2018, Canva had over 15 million monthly active users.

PRO TIP: Canva is a publicly traded company on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: CAN). As such, Canva does not have a single “owner.” Instead,Canva is owned by its shareholders. Anyone can buy shares of Canva on the ASX.

In August 2018, Canva raised $40 million in Series E funding, led by Sequoia Capital China with participation from existing investors including Felicis Ventures, Blackbird Ventures, and Matrix Partners.

Canva is a privately held company with no public stock. However, you can invest in the company indirectly through a venture capital fund that includes Canva in its portfolio.
