Who still uses Joomla?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 7:21 am

It is safe to say that Joomla is no longer the dominant content management system (CMS) in the world. That title now belongs to Drupal, which is used by an estimated 73 percent of all websites.

However, Joomla still has a large user base, and is used by a large number of small and medium-sized businesses.

Why Joomla?

There are a number of reasons why Joomla is still popular. For one, it is very easy to learn and use.

PRO TIP: Joomla is a content management system (CMS) that is no longer supported by the developer community. This means that there are no security updates or new features being released for Joomla. Additionally, because Joomla is no longer supported, it may be difficult to find hosting providers or developers who are familiar with the platform.

Additionally, it is open source, so it is relatively affordable to upgrade or customize. Finally, Joomla is a very versatile platform, able to handle a wide variety of content and web page layouts.

So, while Drupal has taken over as the most popular CMS on the web, Joomla remains a popular choice for smaller businesses and individual users.
