Why Are Emojis Not Showing Up on Canva?

Emojis are a great way to add personality and emotion to your text, but they can be frustrating when they don’t show up correctly. Here are some possible reasons why your emojis might not be appearing on Canva:

1. Incorrect browser or operating system

Emojis may not display properly if you’re using an older browser or operating system. For the best results, make sure you’re using the latest version of your browser, and if you’re on a Mac, make sure you’re running macOS 10.12 or later.

Go to your computer's About Settings and find the Operating System info to Upgrade

2. Missing font

If you’re using an older version of Canva, you may need to install the EmojiOne font to see all the available emojis. This font is available for free online, and instructions for installing it can be found here.

Go to Canva Apps and find the EmojiOne app and click Use

PRO TIP: If you are using Canva on your computer, you may notice that emojis are not showing up. This is because Canva does not currently support emoji. If you want to use emojis in your design, you will need to use another program or app.

3. Incorrect input method

If you’re using a Windows computer, make sure your input method is set to Unicode Hex Input in order to type emojis directly into Canva. Instructions for doing this can be found here. On a Mac, you can use the Character Viewer to insert emojis directly into your design.

In your computer, search for the Character Map and click to activate then make sure to set the character to Unicode
