Why Can’t I See My Brush Strokes in Photoshop?

If you’re working in Photoshop and you can’t see your brush strokes, it’s probably because the “View” mode is set to “Final” rather than “Draft.” To change the View mode, go to the top left corner of the Photoshop window and click on the drop-down menu next to the word “View.”

Then, select “Draft” from the menu. Your brush strokes should now be visible.

It’s also worth noting that you may not be able to see your brush strokes if you’re zoomed in too far. If that’s the case, try zooming out a bit and see if that makes a difference.

PRO TIP: If you are using Photoshop CC and cannot see your brushstrokes, it is likely that you have the ‘Edit > Preferences > Cursors’ setting turned off. To turn this setting on, go to Edit > Preferences > Cursors and check the ‘Show All Cursors’ option.

Finally, make sure that you’re using a brush with 100% opacity. If you’re using a lower opacity setting, your brush strokes may not be visible. If you’re not sure how to check the opacity of your brush, go to the “Brush” menu at the top of the Photoshop window and make sure that “Opacity” is set to 100%.

Conclusion:

The reason you can’t see your brush strokes in Photoshop is probably because the View mode is set to Final rather than Draft. You can change the View mode by going to the top left corner of the Photoshop window and clicking on the drop-down menu next to the word “View.
