It’s a common question that we see on the UpWork Community, and the answer is usually pretty simple:
There are a few reasons why you might not be able to submit a proposal on UpWork. The most common reason is that you don’t have enough Connects in your account. You need at least one Connect to submit a proposal, and you can earn more Connects by completing your profile, connecting your social media accounts, and inviting friends to join UpWork.
If you’re sure you have enough Connects but you’re still having trouble submitting a proposal, the next thing to check is whether the job posting has expired. Jobs are typically posted for 30 days, but sometimes clients will extend the deadline if they’re having trouble finding the right freelancer. If the job posting has expired, you won’t be able to submit a proposal.
-Have an Upwork account
-Be logged in
-Have earned at least $1 through Upwork
-Have a profile photo
-Have a connected payment method
If you don’t meet these requirements, you won’t be able to submit a proposal.
Another reason you might not be able to submit a proposal is if you’ve already submitted too many proposals for that particular job. Clients can set a limit on the number of proposals they want to receive, and once you’ve reached that limit, you won’t be able to submit any more. This is usually done to help clients narrow down their search and make it easier to find the right freelancer.
