Why Does My Wix Website Say Not Secure?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 8:50 am

When you visit a website, your browser checks to see if the site is secure. If it is, you’ll see a padlock icon in the address bar. If it isn’t, you’ll see a warning.

That’s why you might see a “Not Secure” warning when visiting a website. The owner of the website has not set up a security system called HTTPS.

HTTPS is important because it keeps your information safe when you’re using the internet. When you enter information on a website, HTTPS protects it from being seen by other people.

PRO TIP: If you see a ‘Not Secure’ warning in your browser when visiting a website built with Wix, it means that the site is not configured to use HTTPS. This means that any information you enter on the site (including passwords and credit card numbers) could be intercepted by third parties.

To fix this, you’ll need to switch your site to use HTTPS. You can do this in your Wix account settings. Once you’ve switched your site to use HTTPS, the ‘Not Secure’ warning will go away.

If you see a “Not Secure” warning, it means that the website is not using HTTPS and your information could be at risk. Only enter information on websites that are using HTTPS.

You can tell if a website is using HTTPS if there’s a padlock icon next to the address in your browser.

Why Does My Wix Website Say Not Secure?

If your Wix website says “Not Secure,” it means that your site does not have an SSL certificate and is not using HTTPS. SSL certificates are used to encrypt information so that it can’t be seen by other people. HTTPS is important because it keeps your information safe when you’re using the internet.

To fix this, you’ll need to purchase an SSL certificate and enable HTTPS on your site. You can do this in your Wix account under “Domains.”

Once you’ve done this, your site will be secure and will no longer say “Not Secure. ”
