Why Does Squarespace Keep Charging Me?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 3:04 am

It’s no secret that Squarespace is one of the most popular website builders on the market. And for good reason – their platform is easy to use, their designs are modern and sleek, and they offer a variety of features that can help you create a beautiful website.

However, one of the downsides of Squarespace is that they do have a tendency to keep charging their customers, even after they’ve cancel their subscription.

There are a few reasons why this might be the case. First, it’s important to understand that when you cancel your Squarespace subscription, you’re not actually cancelling your website. Your website will remain active, and you’ll still be able to access it and make changes.

PRO TIP: If you are seeing charges on your credit card or bank account from Squarespace, there are a few possible explanations:

1. You may have signed up for a free trial and forgotten to cancel before the end of the trial period. If this is the case, you will be charged for the first month of service.

2. You may have signed up for a monthly or annual subscription and not canceled it before the end of the billing period.

3. You may have made a one-time purchase, such as a domain name or email address, that is still active.

If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact our customer support team for assistance.

However, you will no longer have access to customer support or to any of the Squarespace templates or tools. Additionally, your website will no longer be hosted on the Squarespace servers, which means that it could potentially go down if there are any issues with your hosting provider.

Another reason why Squarespace might keep charging you is because they charge a prorated amount for the months that you have used their service. So, if you cancel your subscription in the middle of the month, you’ll still be charged for that month. However, if you cancel at the beginning of the month, you’ll only be charged for the days that you actually used their service.

Finally, it’s also worth noting that Squarespace has a no refund policy, so even if you cancel your subscription immediately after signing up, you will not be eligible for a refund.

All in all, while Squarespace may be a great platform for creating websites, their tendency to keep charging customers can be frustrating. If you’re considering using Squarespace, be sure to keep this in mind before signing up for their service.
