Why Does Squarespace Say It Looks Like You Usually Log in With a Social Account?

If you’ve ever tried to log in to Squarespace, you may have noticed that it looks like you usually log in with a social account. That’s because Squarespace uses what’s called a social login provider to allow users to log in with their existing social media accounts. This can be convenient for users who don’t want to create a new account just for Squarespace, or for those who want to use their social media accounts to quickly log in to multiple sites and services.

PRO TIP: If you see this message when trying to log into your Squarespace account, it means that we’ve detected that you usually log in with a social account (Google, Facebook, or Apple).

We recommend that you continue to log in with your social account for the best experience. However, if you need to log in with your Squarespace credentials for any reason, you can do so by clicking the “Log in with email” link at the bottom of the login page.

However, there are some potential downsides to using a social login provider. For one, it can be less secure than using a traditional username and password, since social media accounts can be hacked. Additionally, if you ever decide to cancel your Squarespace account, you may have trouble logging back in if you’ve forgotten your social media login information.

So why does Squarespace say it looks like you usually log in with a social account? Well, the company likely sees social login as a convenience for its users. And while there are some potential drawbacks to using this feature, overall it seems like a positive way to make logging into Squarespace easier and more convenient for users.
