Why Is My Pen Pressure Not Working in Photoshop?

If you’re having trouble getting your pen pressure to work in Photoshop, don’t worry – you’re not alone. There are a few different reasons why this might be happening, and we’ll go through each one so that you can figure out what’s going on.

The first thing to check is whether or not you have a pressure-sensitive tablet. If you don’t, then unfortunately there’s not much that you can do – Photoshop will only recognise pressure-sensitive input from a tablet. If you do have a pressure-sensitive tablet, the next thing to check is your Photoshop settings.

Go into the Preferences menu and then select Input. Under Input Devices, make sure that Tablet PC Settings is checked.

If it isn’t, check it and then click OK. Now try using your pen again – it should work.

If that didn’t work, the next thing to check is the Pen Pressure setting in the Brushes panel. Go to Window > Brushes, and then make sure that the Pen Pressure option is checked. If it isn’t, check it and then try using your pen again.

Conclusion:

There are a few different reasons why pen pressure might not be working in Photoshop, but the most common reason is simply that the settings aren’t configured correctly. By following the steps above, you should be able to get your pen pressure working again in no time at all.

PRO TIP: If you are having issues with your pen pressure not working in Photoshop, it is likely due to a driver issue. Make sure that you have the latest driver installed for your graphics tablet. You can also try resetting your Photoshop preferences.
