Why Is My Wix Site Not Saving?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:07 am

There are a few reasons your Wix site might not be saving. One reason could be that you have not published your site. In order to save your progress and make your site viewable to the public, you must first publish your site. To do this, click “Publish” in the top bar of the Editor.

Another reason your Wix site might not be saving is because you are not logged in. In order to save your progress, you must first log in to your Wix account. To do this, click “Login” in the top bar of the Editor.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

If you are logged in and have published your site, but your changes are still not appearing, it could be because you are working in Preview Mode.

Preview Mode shows you a preview of your changes, but they are not actually applied to your live site. To exit Preview Mode and apply your changes, click “Apply Changes” in the top bar of the Editor.

Finally, if you have tried all of the above and your Wix site still is not saving, it could be because you have reached your Site Plan’s monthly limit for Site Actions. Site Actions include things like publishing, adding pages and posts, and restoring versions. To view how many Site Actions you have used this month and how many are included in your Site Plan, click “Site Actions” under “My Account” in the top bar of the Editor. From here, you can also Upgrade to a different Site Plan with more monthly Site Actions.

Why Is My Wix Site Not Saving?

There are a few reasons why your Wix website might not be saving correctly. One reason is that you may need to publish your website before any changes will go live. Another potential reason is that you’re working in Preview Mode- meaning that while you can see the changes you’ve made, they haven’t actually been applied to your website yet.

PRO TIP: If you are having trouble saving your Wix site, there are a few things you can check. First, make sure you are logged in to your account. If you are not logged in, your changes will not be saved. Second, check to see if you have any unsaved changes. To do this, click the “Save” button in the top left corner of the Wix Editor. If there is a drop-down menu next to the “Save” button, this means you have unsaved changes. Click the “Save” button and then select “Publish” from the drop-down menu to publish your changes.

If you’ve tried both of these things and you’re still having trouble saving changes to your Wix website, it could be because you’ve reached the limit for monthly Site Actions included in your current Site Plan. You can check how many actions you have used so far this month by clicking “Site Actions” under “My Account” in the top bar of the Editor.

If none of these solutions work for you, reach out to Wix support for more help troubleshooting why your Wix website isn’t saving correctly.
